1. Introduction 

The ENHANCE European Universities of Technology Alliance (hereinafter referred to as "the Alliance", "we", "us", or "our") takes the protection of personal data very seriously. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"), the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG), the German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz – TDDDG), and all other applicable European and German data protection laws. 

This Privacy Policy explains the nature, scope, and purpose of the processing of personal data when you use our website and associated online services.

4. General Principles of Data Processing 

We process personal data only insofar as this is necessary to provide a functional website, our content, and services. Processing is carried out on a lawful basis pursuant to Article 6 GDPR, in particular: 

  • Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent 

  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures 

  • Article 6(1)(c) GDPR – compliance with a legal obligation 

  • Article 6(1)(e) GDPR – performance of a task carried out in the public interest 

  • Article 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interests 

 

5. Data Collection When Visiting the Website 

We temporarily and automatically collect the following when visiting our website: 

  • IP address, date and time of access, requested page, browser type/version, operating system, referrer URL. 

Legal basis: GDPR Article 6(1)(f) – legitimate interest to maintain website security and operation. Data is retained only as long as necessary for its purpose or required by law. 

 

 6. Cookies and Similar Technologies 

Our website does not use cookies or tracking technologies that require user consent.   

 

7. Contact Forms and Email Communication 

If you contact us via a contact form or by email, the personal data you provide (e.g. name, email address, message content) will be processed solely for the purpose of handling your request. 

The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data will be deleted once the request has been fully processed and no statutory retention obligations apply. 

 

9. Disclosure of Data to Third Parties 

Personal data is disclosed to third parties only where: 

  • you have given your explicit consent, 

  • disclosure is necessary for the performance of a contract or task in the public interest, 

  • there is a legal obligation, or 

  • external service providers act as processors pursuant to Article 28 GDPR. 

 

All processors are contractually bound to comply with data protection requirements. 

 

10. Data Transfers to Third Countries 

Where personal data is transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, this occurs only in compliance with Articles 44–49 GDPR (e.g. adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses).

As a data subject, you have the following rights under the GDPR: 

  • Right of access (Article 15 GDPR) 

  • Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR) 

  • Right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR) 

  • Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR) 

  • Right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR) 

  • Right to object to processing (Article 21 GDPR) 

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. 

13. Right to Lodge a Complaint 

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. 

For Germany, this is typically the data protection authority of the respective federal state. 

14. Data Security 

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access. 

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy 

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical, or organisational changes. The current version is always available on this website.

Als Diensteanbieter sind wir gemäß § 7 Abs. 1 DDG für eigene Inhalte auf diesen Seiten nach den allgemeinen Gesetzen verantwortlich. Nach §§ 8 bis 10 DDG sind wir jedoch nicht verpflichtet, übermittelte oder gespeicherte fremde Informationen zu überwachen oder nach Umständen zu forschen, die auf eine rechtswidrige Tätigkeit hinweisen.

Bei Bekanntwerden von entsprechenden Rechtsverletzungen werden wir diese Inhalte umgehend entfernen.
