Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) is Poland’s oldest and highest-ranked technical university and one of the largest institutes of technology in Central Europe. It employs approximately 5,000 staff and educates more than 20,000 students. While its core focus is on engineering and the sciences across 20 faculties, WUT also offers programmes in architecture, social sciences and business. A central element of the University’s long-term strategy is its development into a world-class centre for education, research and innovation. To support this ambition, WUT actively participates in ENHANCE initiatives that promote student and staff mobility.
Founded in 1915 through the efforts of the Association for Scientific Courses and the Citizens’ Committee of the City of Warsaw, WUT has operated continuously since its establishment. For more than a century, the University has educated successive generations of graduates and achieved a growing number of scientific and technological accomplishments. Student life at WUT is vibrant, with over 160 student research groups, organisations and associations. In addition, the University offers numerous opportunities for students to pursue artistic interests through cultural groups, including the Engineers Band, Academic Choir, Song and Dance Ensemble, Masovia Folk Dance Ensemble and Student Theatre.
