ENHANCE Partners with EIT Women and Girls in STEM 2025

The ENHANCE Alliance is proud to announce its collaboration with EIT Women and Girls in STEM 2025, reinforcing our commitment to gender equality in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) across Europe.
On 16 October 2025, the Women and Girls in STEM event will take place in Brussels, bringing together female high school students from 24 European countries. The event will be livestreamed, allowing audiences across Europe to follow the action.
ENHANCE’s contribution to the STEM Challenge includes:
- Jury Expertise: Cybersecurity expert Swaathi Vetrivel, from our ENHANCE member Delft University of Technology, will represent ENHANCE as a jury member.
- STEM Mentoring & Ambassadors: Our famel STEM Ambassadors from ENHANCE universities promote participation and will represent the Alliance on location during the event, sharing their experiences and motivating participants.
- Presentation Coaching: Finalist teams benefit from structured pitch coaching by ENHANCE instructors.
- Guided Campus Visits: Winning teams (Audience Choice Award) will explore ENHANCE member universities.
- Visibility and Outreach: ENHANCE will host an info desk and engage in event promotion.

Expanding the ENHANCE impact through collaboration
Women remain underrepresented in STEM across Europe – only 34% of STEM graduates are women, and in fields such as engineering and ICT, that number drops below 20%. Guided by our mission to foster gender equality, unlock talent, and empower role models, ENHANCE and EIT Women and Girls in STEM are working together to close this gap and shape universities as drivers of innovation and inclusion.

“Working together with EIT Women and Girls in STEM allows us to scale the impact of both partners, connect with a truly international audience, and build bridges between high schools and leading universities of technology. It is a win-win situation for fostering gender equality in STEM across Europe,” said Melih Özkardes, Head of the ENHANCE Diversity Office.
Together, we are creating opportunities for women and girls to thrive in STEM, driving progress and building a more inclusive future.
