ENHANCE Showcases Impact at EAIE 2025 in Gothenburg

The ENHANCE European Universities of Technology Alliance marked a major milestone by exhibiting for the first time at the EAIE 2025 Annual Conference and Exhibition, held from 9–12 September in Gothenburg, Sweden. Joining more than 35 European University Alliances and 300+ higher education institutions, ENHANCE showcased how cross-border collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity are transforming higher education across Europe.

A Hub for Collaboration and Exchange

In addition to booth activities, ENHANCE contributed to panels and discussions with FOREU4ALL, Una Europa, and the Erasmus Student Network, sharing best practices on alliance collaboration, policy engagement, and service-based learning. These sessions underscored the Alliance’s commitment to fostering connections and advancing higher education policy across Europe.

Throughout the week, ENHANCE welcomed participants to booth P78, where representatives from our ten member universities and extended partner network shared insights into our activities, toolkits, and guidelines. A key focus of our presence was highlighting the impact of European University Alliances on both national and regional higher education policy, as well as on the student experience.

Interactive Session: Alliances4EthicalTech

A highlight of our participation was the co-hosted interactive session, Alliances4EthicalTech: What Skills Will Shape the Future?, with EELISA European University and EUt+ European University of Technology. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, including the Marshmallow Challenge, to explore transversal skills essential for an ethical and sustainable digital future. Discussions focused on:

  • Identifying skills underrepresented in STEAM curricula
  • Adapting education to meet emerging challenges over the next five years
  • Overcoming institutional barriers to embedding transversal skills
  • Sharing successful practices already implemented across European universitie

The session generated a collaborative wall of ideas, actionable takeaways, and new professional connections, illustrating the importance of interactive approaches in fostering creativity, resilience, collaboration, and problem-solving in higher education.

Community and Partnership

Beyond formal sessions, ENHANCE members reconnected with colleagues from across the alliance, sharing experiences on the conference grounds and enjoying moments of informal networking, including a memorable dinner at Gothenburg’s aptly named restaurant, Familijen (“The Family”). These interactions reinforced the sense of community and shared purpose that drives ENHANCE’s mission.

Looking Ahead

EAIE 2025 provided ENHANCE with a platform to showcase our collective and individual impact, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to shaping the future of European higher education. The ENHANCE team leaves Gothenburg inspired, motivated, and more committed than ever to co-creating inclusive, innovative, and sustainable universities of tomorrow.
