Sixteen students from across the ENHANCE Alliance came together in Berlin on 20–21 April for the latest ENHANCE Student Forum meeting — and once again, they reminded us why students are at the very heart of everything we do.
Over two packed days, Student Forum members dug deep into their current work programme, reflected on progress made, and set their sights on what comes next. The meeting brought a wealth of ideas to the table around how the Alliance can continue to strengthen student engagement, and how students can play an active role in shaping ENHANCE's joint educational offer and broader project outcomes.
As key ambassadors for ENHANCE within their home institutions, Student Forum members also explored fresh approaches to outreach and local promotion — because building a strong, engaged student community across the Alliance starts at home.
A highlight of the meeting was an interactive workshop focused on the next ENHANCE EUI project proposal. With the design phase now underway, the Student Forum began developing ideas for student-led activities and mechanisms to scale up the outreach approaches that have proven most successful so far. Our students' voice isn't just welcome in this process — it is essential.
The meeting also served as an important moment for community-building within the Student Forum itself. With several new members attending their very first Student Forum meeting, there was plenty of opportunity to get to know one another. To support this, students took part in an active citizenship and youth democracy workshop facilitated by Berlin-based organisation Radikale Töchter. As an Alliance, we call on our students to help drive transformational change and to bring bold ideas to our leadership — and workshops like this help equip them with the skills and confidence to do exactly that.
We extend our gratitude to our member Technische Universität Berlin for hosting this fruitful meeting and to every member of the ENHANCE Student Forum for your energy, commitment and ideas. A warm thank you to our organisers Sarah Fowkes and Andrea Zestic from the ENHANCE Operational Office, Paul Forberger, Core Officer in the TU Berlin ENHANCE team, for bringing these two days together, and to the the German representation of the European Commission, for generously hosting our Tuesday morning.
Stay tuned for more updates from the ENHANCE Student Forum.
