Communities of practice driving educational transformation across Europe

Join thematic hubs where staff from ENHANCE universities exchange experience, co‑create solutions and strengthen their institutions. Short online sessions, shared resources and in‑person collaboration support professional growth and ENHANCE's mission of societal impact through education

What are the ENHANCE Hubs?

ENHANCE Hubs bring together staff from all partner universities to work on priority topics such as teaching innovation, employee wellbeing, international mobility, open science and inclusion.

Each Hub offers short online sessions (typically 1 hour), discussion spaces, recordings and resources, complemented by in‑person activities during GREAT Staff Weeks and job shadowing opportunities. Hubs form the core learning environment for the GREAT Advanced and Guided Tracks.

How the ENHANCE Hubs Work

Join online sessions: Live 1-hour meetings with input + discussion, or access recordings asynchronously.
Engage with resources: Shared materials, good practices and e-learning spaces per Hub.
Connect in‑person: Staff Week workshops, job shadowing or peer exchange at partner universities

Workload: Around 40 hours across a track, combining online, in‑person and reflection activities. Recordings available via e-courses platform.

Our Current ENHANCE Hubs

The Methodological Hub for Teachers explores innovative teaching and learning approaches to prepare students for complex societal challenges. Staff discuss and exchange practices in project-based learning, gamification, active learning, flipped classroom techniques, cognitive load theory and advanced Problem Based Learning in collaboration with the Aalborg PBL Centre. These sessions help teachers design more engaging, student-centred and future-oriented education.

The Wellbeing Hub focuses on creating healthy and supportive work environments for university staff and students. Participants explore practical approaches to mental health, digital balance, job crafting, inclusive workplace practices and the wellbeing of academic communities. The Hub supports staff in building resilience and fostering institutional cultures that prioritise people alongside performance.

The International Exchange Knowledge Hub strengthens staff mobility and intercultural collaboration across ENHANCE universities. Staff share best practices for Erasmus+ grant allocation, sustainable and green travel, welcoming international colleagues and students, and building inclusive international offices. The Hub helps international offices and mobility coordinators work more effectively together.

The Open Science Hub supports staff in implementing open science policies and practices across research, teaching and administration. Topics include open access publishing (including Diamond OA), research data management, libraries as partners in information literacy, and building support structures for researchers. The Hub connects technical staff, librarians and researchers to drive cultural change toward openness.

The Employee Functional Diversity Hub addresses inclusion of neurodiverse staff, employees with chronic illness and disability in academic workplaces. Participants explore practical approaches to neurodiversity, supporting staff with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and chronic health conditions in digitised work environments. The Hub builds capacity for truly inclusive employment practices across ENHANCE institutions.

Our Hubs and the ENHANCE GREAT Programme

the Hubs provide the core content for GREAT Advanced and Guided Tracks. Participants select hubs matching their interests, combine online sessions with Staff Week activities (6–8 May 2026, Gdańsk), and complete reflection tasks toward the ENHANCE GREAT Certificate and micro‑credentials

Who Can Join?

Open to all staff from ENHANCE universities (academic and non‑academic).
No prerequisites – join individual sessions or full tracks.
Funding available for in‑person activities (Erasmus+ STT, NAWA grants).
Particularly welcomes staff with fewer opportunities and diverse backgrounds.

It’s as simple as three steps:

Choose 1–2 Hubs that match your interests or role (Contact your Hub coordinator or local ENHANCE office for the enrolment key and upcoming session dates)
Register for upcoming sessions via your local ENHANCE office or the session links
Access recordings and resources through the e-courses platform (enrolment keys provided)
