This report presents a guidance toolkit for researcher career development (RCD) developed within ENHANCERIA’s WP5: Joint Human Resources Development. The toolkit was created by the RCD Working Group, composed of all participating ENHANCERIA universities, to identify and share best practices in recruitment, career development, and mobility, enhancing the implementation of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The toolkit offers a practical, user-friendly resource for researchers and employers, including: a compendium of relevant legal frameworks across partner countries; key skills and competencies for researchers; guidance on publishing, joining research groups, and accessing private-sector opportunities; and advice on international mobility and institutional support. Designed to address frequently asked questions and common challenges, the toolkit provides actionable recommendations to inspire improvements in career development conditions at ENHANCERIA institutions and is broadly applicable to researchers and institutions worldwide.
