Advancing teaching, mobility and wellbeing in European universities
From 6 to 8 May 2026, Gdańsk University of Technology will host the ENHANCE GREAT Staff Week, bringing together staff from all ENHANCE partner institutions to learn from each other, exchange practices and co‑create more innovative and inclusive universities. The Staff Week is open to all interested staff; you do not need to be a member of a GREAT Hub or Track to participate.
The event builds on the ENHANCE mission of societal transformation through education by focusing on two cross‑cutting themes: forward‑looking teaching methods and the wellbeing of employees. Across three days, participants will engage in interactive workshops, hub meetings, job shadowing and shared wellbeing activities.
Focus area: Problem Based Learning for teachers
A central element of the Staff Week is the Methodological Hub for Teachers, with a strong focus on Problem Based Learning (PBL). Workshops will be led by the Aalborg Centre for Problem Based Learning in Engineering Science and Sustainability, a recognised reference in PBL in engineering education.
These sessions are designed for participants who already have experience with PBL and wish to deepen their practice, reflect on real cases, and explore how PBL can support sustainable and socially engaged learning. For colleagues new to PBL, the programme’s broader online activities offer opportunities to build foundational knowledge ahead of future editions.
Wellbeing of employees as an overarching theme
The wellbeing of employees is the overarching theme of the Staff Week. Through joint sessions and hub‑specific discussions, participants will address topics such as healthy work environments, mental health, digital balance, and inclusive workplace practices. The aim is to exchange concrete approaches that support staff wellbeing and, in turn, enhance the quality and resilience of our universities.
Wellbeing is integrated throughout the programme, from reflective sessions to social activities, creating space for connection, mutual support and long‑term collaboration across institutions.
The core programme runs from Wednesday 6 May (starting at 09:00) to Friday 8 May (ending around 15:00), with two additional travel days possible.
