From 26 to 28 May, Universitat Politècnica de València hosted a working meeting of the ENHANCE Alliance, bringing together representatives from all ten partner technical universities. The focus was on curriculum innovation, new learning experiences, and the design of shared educational pathways across the alliance.
The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Studies, Quality and Accreditation, José Pedro García Sabater, who stressed that the Alliance's findings only translate into real change when programme coordinators, curriculum designers and teaching staff have the tools and space to turn them into concrete decisions. He highlighted the genuine opportunities for university programmes to incorporate flexibility, sustainability, AI literacy and interdisciplinary skills, while preserving each institution's own identity.
The Learning Innovation group explored "sandbox learning experiences", with Politecnico di Milano, TU Delft and Warsaw University of Technology presenting their own approaches to collaborative learning, virtual reality and the development of transversal skills. The final day tackled a fundamental question — what it means to learn in the age of artificial intelligence — with a contribution from Juan A. Marín-García of UPV's Institute of Educational Sciences (ICE), looking at how future programmes for STEM students might be designed from that starting point.
Meanwhile, the European Educational Pathways working group brought together programme coordinators, academic leads and mobility coordinators from all ten partners to continue developing the ENHANCE Thematic Paths: shared thematic study routes that allow students from any ENHANCE university to complete part of their studies at another partner institution, with full academic recognition, in areas such as sustainability, entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence.
The event was closed by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Communication, and ENHANCE Steering Committee member, José Francisco Monserrat del Río, who underlined the importance of collaboration between European universities in building a more innovative and globally competitive Europe.
The ENHANCE partners extended their thanks to UPV and the local organising team for hosting such a productive gathering, praising the warm welcome and the smooth running of the three days, which provided a valuable opportunity for partners to exchange ideas face-to-face and strengthen ties across the alliance.
