Call for ENHANCE Blended Intensive Programmes 2026/27 Now Open

We are launching the first-ever joint Call for ENHANCE Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) for the 2026/27 academic year. This marks an important step for our Alliance and reflects our members’ shared commitment to streamlining how we design and deliver innovative learning opportunities—together shaping the “next normal” of STEM education in Europe and beyond. The call is supported by Erasmus+, with Movetia Switzerland funding programmes coordinated by ETH Zurich.

Through this call, we invite academic staff to develop programmes that foster interdisciplinary and challenge-driven learning while contributing to our shared vision of a European Education Without Barriers. Each programme must award at least 3 ECTS credits and involve a minimum of ten Erasmus+ mobile learners, with larger cohorts encouraged.

What is a Blended Intensive Programme?

Blended Intensive Programmes offer a flexible and collaborative format that combines a virtual learning component with a short, intensive physical phase of five to ten days. Co-designed and co-delivered by our partner universities, BIPs enable teaching staff to experiment with new pedagogical approaches, strengthen international cooperation, and offer students a truly European learning experience.

Approved programmes receive organisational support funding as well as mobility grants for participating students and teaching staff during the in-person phase. Funding levels depend on the number of participants and the institutional regulations of the partner universities involved.

Timelines for Application phases 2026/27

We encourage academic staff across the ENHANCE Alliance to consider developing a Blended Intensive Programme for the 2026/27 academic year (1 September 2026–31 August 2027). If you have an idea or would like to explore potential partnerships, we strongly encourage you to reach out to your local ENHANCE contact person for guidance and support. Proposals should be submitted as a PDF to the relevant institutional contact.

We look forward to shaping this new chapter of joint ENHANCE education initiatives together.
