Last week (23-26 June), Gdańsk University of Technology kindly hosted the latest ENHANCE leadership meeting, bringing together the ENHANCE Steering Committee, student representatives, Core Officers, and representatives of the operational and task leads from the current ENHANCE+ project. Over the course of several days, the group discussed the future of the alliance, its strategic anchors, and the contours of the next development phase, while confirming a shared alignment and commitment to further consolidating ENHANCE's network of leading technical universities across Europe.
Beyond reviewing current outputs and success stories, conversations turned to some of the most pressing topics in higher education today: the trajectory of AI in education, graduate employability, European competitiveness, and the future of research collaboration. These discussions underscored just how closely ENHANCE's work is tied to the broader challenges facing universities and societies across the region.
The full-day Steering Committee session was followed by a dedicated workshop for Core Officers and Work Package Leads, focused on reflecting on current workflows and putting the future of alliance project working at the centre of the conversation. The exchanges held in Gdańsk are already translating into new follow-up collaborations, and we expect them to grow into even more fruitful cooperation, built on trust and a shared objective: creating added value across our ten individual ecosystems, and allowing students, staff, and society to benefit from this European network of excellence.
In-person meetings like this week together in Gdańsk allow the consortium to work at an accelerated pace and deepen the connection and mutual understanding that underpin the alliance. We warmly thank Gdańsk University of Technology for hosting us so generously, and for making this meeting possible with the support of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
