European university for everyone? Reflections on diversity and gender equality in ENHANCE

Share it

ENHANCE carries out a webinar series about diversity and gender equality. Speakers from the member universities will talk about these transversal topics during three webinars on 15, 22 and 29 March 2022. The seminars are open to the public at large.

The ombudsperson at ENHANCE, Melih Özkardes, explains that inspiring panellists from the member universities of the Alliance “will discuss and reflect on these cross-cutting topics in ENHANCE.” Academic and administrative staff members, as well as students from the ENHANCE community, are invited to join. A Q&A session at the end of each webinar will allow for an open discussion.

Diversity and gender equality are very important topics on the agenda of European Universities. The ENHANCE Alliance recently published its first report on Diversity and Gender Equality. “In three lunchbreak events, we will have a deep-dive into its results and reflect on how we can become a European University for everyone”, Melih Özkardes adds.

What to expect?

The webinar series includes three key questions regarding diversity and gender equality:

  1. How to mainstream diversity and gender equality?
  2. How to empower underrepresented groups?
  3. How to train staff and students about diversity and gender issues?

Each seminar includes a Q&A session at the end.

From 11.00 to 12.00 CET

Who can join?

Mainstreaming diversity and gender equality is a long journey where all players at all levels have to get involved. How can we do it in ENHANCE? What is the status quo in the member universities? What is the role of having a Gender and Equality Plan (GEP) to succeed in that field? Having a GEP is becoming increasingly important to get European funding for research and innovation projects. Come and join the discussion!
