The ENHANCE Alliance is delighted to present the second iteration of a cross-cutting educational opportunity: the “ENHANCE Micro Programme on Gender and Diversity in Science, Technology and Society.”

This comprehensive programme will run from June to September 2024 and includes a one-week onsite summer school ar our partner Technische Universität Berlin, Germany.

 

This programme represents a valuable opportunity to enhance your understanding of the complex relationship between gender, diversity, and STEM, guided by leading experts in the field. We look forward to your participation in this enriching educational experience.

 

Programme Overview

 

The ENHANCE Micro Programme offers a unique chance to delve into the critical intersections of gender, diversity, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Upon successful participation, students can earn 3, 6, or 9 ECTS through three distinct modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Gender & Diversity in STS (Online, 3 ECTS

 

    • Time Period: July 2024
    • Format: Self-study, online consultations
    • Activities: Online lectures, assigned tasks and questions, group work
    • Workload: 75-90 hours

Module 2: Summer School on Gender & Diversity in STS (Onsite, 3 ECTS)

 

    • Time Period: July 29 – August 2, 2024 (arrival on July 28, departure on August 2 late or August 3)
    • Location: Berlin, Germany
    • Format: In-class teaching, readings, excursions, group work
    • Activities: Lectures, excursions to museums on nature and technology, group project development
    • Workload: 75-90 hours

Module 3: Study Project on Gender & Diversity in STS (Online, 3 ECTS)

    • Time Period: August to September 2024
    • Format: Group work and presentation
    • Activities: Research-based learning, group consultations, project presentations
    • Workload: 75-90 hours

Who can apply?

The programme is designed for students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or doctoral degrees in natural, planning, and technical sciences, mathematics, and computer science. It is especially beneficial for those interested in acquiring competencies in Science and Technology Studies (STS) with a focus on gender and diversity.

Participation in the onsite summer school in Berlin requires the completion of Module 1 as a prerequisite. Limited spots are available, and early registration is encouraged.
